Nice writeup! I like how you assume no prior knowledge of GCP. One thing you might want to mention is that they can go to the GCP console and navigate to Compute Engine | instances and “Stop” the VM. You are not charged for compute when the VM is stopped and you can always restart to get back to where you were.
